John O. Niles
John O. Niles

John O. Niles is the director of the Forest and Climate Change Program for the US World Wildlife Fund. He also continues to give public and private talks on global carbon science and policy, including regular lectures at the University of California, San Diego. His bachelor's degree is in natural resource economics, and his M.S. is in biological sciences. After completing his undergraduate degree, John O. Niles spent several years in Nigeria and Cameroon studying the conservation of primates and forest habitats. He continues working to preserve sensitive areas and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Tropical Forest Group. At the time of his 2001 presentation, John O. Niles worked for the University of California, Berkeley.
